Description
1963 PONTIAC CATALINA 2 DOOR HARDTOP. THIS CAR STARTS, RUNS, DRIVES AND STOPS. IT IS HOWEVER, AN EASY PROJECT FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO FINISH IT. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE HIGHLY DESIRABLE 389 CI MOTOR AND IT SOUNDS AND RUNS GREAT.
IT ALSO IS EQUIPPED WITH THE PROPER TRIPS, HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT PRESENTLY HOOKED UP. THE CAR IS RUNNING ON THE CENTER CARB. THIS IS BEYOND MY CAPABILITIES. IT ALSO HAS THE FACTORY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND IT SHIFTS GREAT.
THE BRAKES ARE HIGH AND WORK VERY WELL. THE FRONT SHOCKS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE BODY AND PAINT ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. THE PAINT WAS DONE IN A 2 STAGE PAINT BY A PROFESSIONAL SHOP AND IT SHOWS THAT.
THE ARE A COUPLE SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE BUT NOTHING MAJOR. IT ALSO DOES NOT HAVE ANY DENTS. THERE IS NO VISIBLE BODY FILLER AND BEING A LARGER CAR THERE ARE NO WAVES DOWN THE SIDES. THERE IS ALSO NO RUST ISSUES ON THE BODY.
THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL. IT WILL NEED TO BE REDONE. THE SEATS HAVE HOLES AND WEAR. THE DRIVERS DOOR PANEL IS MISSING AND THE PASSENGER DOOR PANEL IS IN POOR CONDITION. THE HEADLINER IS MISSING BUT I HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE.
THE GLASS IS ORIGINAL AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. ALL OF THE WINDOWS WORK PROPERLY. THE FRONT FLOOR PANELS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY DO HAVE HOLES ALL THE GAGES WORK PROPERLY. A NEW GAS TANK WAS INSTALLED AS WILL AS THE FUEL PUMP.
THE FRAME IS STILL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE IS SOME SURFACE RUST BUT NOTHING THROUGH. THE TRUNK PAN AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES DOES HAVE SOME HOLES. Classic Pontiac Catalina Buyer's Guide
The Pontiac Catalina occupies a fascinating position in the collector market: it was Pontiac's entry-level full-size car, yet its lighter weight and wide availability with the division's most powerful engines made it the platform of choice for performance buyers who wanted maximum speed at minimum cost. The 1961–1963 Super Duty Catalinas — built for NASCAR and drag racing with aluminum body panels and the 421 Super Duty engine — are among the most significant factory performance cars in American automotive history. Below them are hundreds of thousands of honest, durable, and undervalued full-size Pontiacs that the market has largely overlooked in favor of GTOs and Firebirds.
