1962 Buick Electra

1962 Buick Electra 225 four window four door hardtop. is Buick's top rung four door for 1962, the Electra 225 that is a true survivor with 16,500 actual miles. This car was in Collectible Automobile magazine in June of 1998. The car was purchased at a collector car auction by the previous owner where the low mileage was verified by the original owner. The previous owner removed the original 401 V8 and a Turbine Drive automatic transmission; both in running and driving condition, the plan was to update the cylinder heads to run on the current day fuel and change some gaskets. Instead of doing that, the original engine and transmission were left stock, and a 425 dual quad Wildcat 445 nailhead was installed in its place with a freshened up Turbine Drive automatic transmission. The 445 in Wildcat was for the 445 foot pounds of torque, dual quad versions were rated at 465 foot pounds of torque. The engine starts and runs great, has an amazing amount of power as you would expect with 465 foot pounds of torque. Both original engine and transmission will be included; they are not in the car now. The paint and body are mostly original as per previous owner. There have been some touchups that have been done on the car, and there is some cracking in the paint in some places. The worst spot on the car is the rocker panel on the driver's side, look worse than it really is. All of the chrome trim is very good original condition, wheels are original tires are newer radial tires. Brakes have all been recently serviced, new wheel cylinders and all wheel bearings were serviced. The interior of the car is in beautiful condition. The headliner was recently redone in a material as close to original as possible, looks great. The carpet was replaced by the previous owner with original reproduction carpet and is in very nice condition. The seats and door panels are very good condition. Power windows are factory equipped and operate as they should. The car has an aftermarket stereo.lDoors: 4
