Listing Description

1956 Chevrolet is considered a \'pilot\' car. It is the first \'56 passenger car to be purchased with a dual quad motor (Corvette engine) before dual quad motors were available in passenger cars. It also has a padded dash and shoulder harness belts which were put into this vehicle as an experiment. I have the original invoice stipulating Corvette engine as a special order. (Not a copy.) I have other documentation, magazine coverage, several letters from the original purchaser and dealer information. I am limiting my ad because I think this will be a car that collectors are interested in. My \'56 started life with a 265cc hydraulic lifter motor, two 4bbl carburetors, and a three-speed transmission. The 9-fin Corvette valve covers came with the order due to it being considered a Corvette engine. It was not a body off restoration. The interior, stainless, chrome, and glass are like new. I see no body panel replacement on the car or rust. I replaced the rear third member due to it not being a \'56 item. The car was drag raced in the 1960s and now has a replacement 1956 engine block. All other components are believed to be as per the original order.
