Features 1984 Corvette Coupe Two-owner and only has 8619 original miles, and it looks like brand new 1984 C4 was Motor Trend Magazines Car Of The Year in 1984. Corvette was hands-down the fastest American automobile that year and capable of Pushrod 16-valve 350 cubic inch V-8 engine, iron block and heads, 2x1-bbl Rochester throttle-body fuel injection, and put out 205 horsepower @ 4300 rpm and 290 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm 4-speed automatic transmission Engine sits in a factory fresh clean and detailed engine compartment Power steering Power disc brakes Air conditioning. Bronze leather seats Two-spoke steering wheel Instrument cluster Digital gauges Power windows Power locks Bose AM/FM/cassette stereo Targa roof Dark Bronze Metallic paint Factory mag wheels Black wall performance tires Factory dual exhaust system. Mechanical The 1984 Corvette was hands-down the fastest American automobile that year and capable of 140-mph top speeds, 0-to-60 times under seven seconds, and 15.2-second quarter-miles at 90 mph. In fact, those figures back then qualified the Corvette as one of the half-dozen fastest production automobiles in the entire world! The road holding on this Corvette was so advanced that the press recorded the highest skid pad lateral acceleration-0.90 g-ever observed with a conventional automobile and practically trivializes the previous high-water marks, in the 0.82-g range, generated by such exotics as the Porsche 928 and assorted Ferraris. It has a pushrod 16-valve 350 cubic inch V-8 engine, iron block and heads, 2x1-bbl Rochester throttle-body fuel injection, and put out 205 horsepower @ 4300 rpm and 290 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm with its 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine sits in a factory fresh clean and detailed engine compartment and of course has power steering and brakes, and air conditioning. Interior The interior has bronze leather seats that hug both you and your passenger individually, a two-spoke steering wheel that was purposely designed to give you a commanding view of the unique instrument cluster, digital gauges that were state-of-the-art when they were introduced, controls for the power windows, power locks, and a Bose AM/FM/cassette stereo. The targa roof made its first appearance this year, but it was so popular that they still have them on new Corvettes today, and the top can be taken off and stored in the truck while you enjoy the open-air ride. Exterior The low mileage on this Corvette is the reason why the entire car, including the Dark Bronze Metallic paint, it so nice and well-presented. The metallic paint has a nice glow that makes this fiberglass look like precious metal. The body is in such a good condition that the doors shut with confidence, the front end is still crisp and iconic, the headlights open easily, and it rides on the factory mag wheels and black wall performance tires, with a great sound coming from the factory dual exhaust system. Conclusion The first year C4 1984 Chevrolet Corvette here at Skyway Classics was the beginning of the modern Corvette legend and is a rare to find and one so affordable you won't want to miss out on this sure-fire NCRS Top-Flight candidate.
