1962 Chevrolet El Camino
Vehicle Details
Listing Description
1962 Chevrolet El Camino Custom'The Missing El Camino' This '62 Chevy originally was a two-door Biscayne sedan. The builder did a terrific job bringing the big back window forward and forming the B-pillar angle over the door to meet the original sheetmetal that surrounded the back window. The top angle and rear-door angle look very close to a '71 El Camino door profile. The seamless tailgate is also another nice feature. If GM had built a '62 El Camino, it would probably have looked very close to this fine custom. The bone-stock chassis features a stock 283ci Chevy V-8 with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and 550-cfm Holley carb covered by a Mr. Gasket air cleaner. Behind the 283 is a '69 GM 350 turbo trans that connects to a 3.08 reared gear. The PPG Red pain and 17X10-inch American Torq-Thrust wheels gives the exterior a retro look, while the interior features more modern gray and black tweed on a 60/40 bench seat. Has an Alpine stereo/CD player.Doors: 2
