1958 Chevrolet Impala, 348 Tri Power Big Block V8 Engine (3 Rochester 2 Barrel Carburetors), 2 Speed Power Glide Automatic Transmission, 74,000 Original Miles Documented on the car and title, Power Steering, Finished in correct Tropic Turquoise with only 1 repaint, Working AM Radio, Original Fender Skirts, Original Interior in Excellent condition for it's age, All Chrome and Stainless is in excellent condition, This is the very first year of the Impala, named for an Antelope. Powered by a Turbo-Thrust 348 V-8 with three two-barrel carburetors and generated 280 HP. Chevrolet had completely redesigned its product lineup for 1958 and the Impala had a number of unique features to separate it from the standard Bel Air. In 1958 Impalas accounted for about 15 percent of Chevrolet's total sales. All 1958 Chevrolets were longer, lower and wider than 1957 and rode on a new X-frame, with coil springs front and rear. Designer Bill Mitchell had replaced the fins and simple straight lines of the '57 models with baroque curves. Incidental aluminum brightwork was scattered everywhere. All models had full-width mesh grilles and four headlights and signature triple taillights.
