Vehicle Details
Listing Description
1941 Chevrolet AK-Series "Art Deco" Pickup Truck For Sale The Chevrolet AK Series truck was a light duty truck sold under the Chevrolet brand, with production beginning in 1941 until 1947. It used the GM A platform and was also branded and sold as a GMC, with the primary visual difference being the Chevrolet had vertical bars in the grille, while the GMC had horizontal bars. The 1941-45 GMC models were sold as C- Series standing for Conventional Cab and are most visually associated with a classic pickup. The AK series represented an appearance split from previous Chevrolet products where the passenger cars and pickup trucks shared a common appearance, as demonstrated in the Chevrolet Master truck. The AK was an all-new appearance when it was introduced in 1941, and many refer to its memorable design as "Art Deco". This is a factory correct, bone stock example of this significant pickup model with its original 216 cubic inch inline 6- cylinder engine and 3-speed standard transmission. It is in rock solid body and mechanical condition with zero rust. If you wanted to show the truck, you might consider refinishing or replacing the wood of the bed (kits readily available) or just use it as is. The truck runs perfectly, and will keep up with highway traffic or buzz around town. Vintage pickups are immensely popular because they stand out in a crowd; this '41 stands out among pickups both for its fabulous design and rarity.
