1966 Dodge Polara
Vehicle Details
Listing Description
1966 Dodge Polara 2 door hardtop. Factory 383 big block, Torqueflite 727 automatic, and Chrysler 8 ¾ rear end with 3.23 gears. New leaf springs, bushings, and shackles, new heavy duty torsion bars, new KYB shocks, and new Firm Feel stage 2 power steering box. New Brawler 670 CFM 4 barrel with electric choke and vacuum secondaries. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Pertronics electronic ignition conversion. Aluminum radiator. New rear tires, new u-joints, and new transmission mount. This car came from the factory with a 2 barrel 383 and the Torqueflite 727 automatic. The current engine is a 1964 High Performance 383 4 bbl rated at 330 hp and 425 ft lb. I cannot verify if the 727 that’s in it now is the original, but my guess is that it’s a transplant. It shifts like it has a shift kit. This is a true, rust-free car. No rust in trunk, floorboards, or any panels. The only corrosion I can find is the battery tray where a battery must have leaked at some point in its life. Not a rusty one that was fixed, but a no rust original. This is a factory A/C, power drum brake car. A/C components in the cab have been removed, but I have them all. Have original compressor, only needs a condenser and some lines as far as componentry goes. This car runs and drives well, and the 383 is pretty peppy. The interior is very nice. Only needs a headliner and deck lid (readily available from the classic car resto parts websites) to be complete. It does have the Jute padding and new boughs, and I have all the headliner trim pieces freshly painted to match the rest of the interior. It comes with a 440 builder out of a low mile 1978 motorhome. Block, heads, and intake only. The builder motor sat outside for a while but turns over easily. These cars are pretty hard to find and make a really cool hot rod. You typically see 30 Camaros, 20 Firebirds, a slew of Chevelles, and lots of Chargers, Challengers, and Cuda’s (not to mention the 30,000 Mustangs) at the car show.Body Style: CoupeDoors: 2
