Description

1972 FORD F100 long-bed 2WD pickup. Have invested $$$ in this truck over the past three years. It drives very, very well, and gets a lot of attention at car shows and cruises. Details are below. History: I have a Marti report on the truck.

Was originally sold in Phoenix, and bounced around the southwest until I bought it in Texas in 2021. Originally had 360-2V engine, automatic, custom trim package, dealer-installed AC, and Grabber Blue paint. Engine: Pro-built 1972 390FE bored out to 398 ci with new Comp street cam, electronic ignition, rebuilt heads, roller rockers, headers, starter, battery, and 750 Holley 4-barrel carb.

Also has all-new fuel system (tank, fuel pump, lines, filter, and pressure gauge) and all-new cooling system (aluminum radiator, relay-actuated fans, thermostat, and hoses). Runs perfectly, starts every time, and doesn’t overheat even in Florida summers. Transmission: Pro-built C6 auto has been completely rebuilt with shift kit, 2000 RPM convertor, and new pan with drain plug.

Shifts quietly and well. Rear Differential: Rebuilt original 9” rear with what I believe to be non-original 3.90:1 gear set and new pinion seal. Suspension: Lowered suspension via 3” drop I-beams up front and 4” lengthened shackles in back.

New steering box, rag joints, shocks, aftermarket 11” vented front disc brakes with new pads, rebuilt rear drums with new shoes, wheel cylinders, and bearings. Has new 20” American Racing alloys with Michelin touring tires all around. Great ride on the highway.

Body: Nearly rust-free with only one spot under spare tire in bed. Truck was repainted in original Grabber Blue color in 2010, but now has a satin clear coat with white scallops and red pinstriping. New LED headlights in custom billet grille.

Generally good condition, but not perfect: has a couple of creases at the back of the hood (hinge broke – has been replaced) and one in the driver’s side door. Interior: White and gray with no rips in seat, original seat belts.
