Listing Description

1930 Model A Tudor is all original. The only thing ever rebuilt was the engine and transmission which are both in excellent condition. I am a retired Space Shuttle Mechanical Engineer and an A&P mechanic who has always loved to take things apart and put them back together again ……..always with a few improvements. Some of the things that I really like about this particular car is that it has the optional original oil filled shock absorbers, body side cowl lights, an actual mechanical cabin heater, vacuum operated windshield wiper and even an original hand crank/lug wrench with a tire jack under the rear seat. The following are some of the items that I recently did to the car. The engine oil pan was removed and even though the inside was not that sludgy I thoroughly cleaned it out. I measured the connecting rod babbit bearing clearances to make sure they were within specifications which they all were at between .001 and .0015 inches. The inside of the engine looked fantastic with hardly any noticeable wear on the cylinder walls. I installed the Model A “a-ford-able” Oil filter Kit which as an Engineer I consider to be the best one available for these cars. The oil pan was filled with 10w-30w synthetic oil. The engine cooling system was then flushed, new hoses, a leak-less water pump and a thermostat was installed and the carburetor rebuilt. I greased all the zerk fittings and lubed all the accessible joints. Topped off the transmission and rear end fluids. Inspected the front drum brakes and blew out the dust. I replaced both RH and LH front wheel bearings and inner and outer races with new TIMKEN brand bearings/races. Removed the rear brake drums, blew out the dust and hand packed the roller bearings. Installed 4 brand new tires, rim strips and tubes. Installed a new speedometer and new cable. Installed new interior floorboard mats in the front and rear. I also installed an ON/OFF battery switch underneath the dash and wired up a 6 volt Battery Tender.Trim: TudorBody Style: TouringDoors: 2Fuel Type: GasDrive Type: RWD
