Listing Description

1968 Ford Mustang Fastback Factory S Code 390 GT 4 Speed Converted to Nostalgic Drag Race Car SVO 460 Based Cobra Jet Engine Aluminum Cobra Jet Heads NOS Big Shot System Used For Street/Race/Car Shows You are looking at an extremely cool and very nostalgic 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. The car started life as a 68 S Code 390 GT 4 Speed Candy Apple Red car, but was converted to a tube chassis drag, street, and show car. Car was made to somewhat resemble a 68.5 Factory drag car. The car has an all steel body, except for the removable parts of the hood. The fenders, doors, quarters, roof etc are all original Ford Steel. The car does have a custom made sheetmetal floor, and tubs, and front half, and tube chassis. The car retains it’s factory windshield and door glass that rolls up and down just like factory. The rear window is lexan. Engine · The engine is a beast. · SVO 460 Crate Engine with aluminum Cobra Jet heads, Aluminum intake, 1050 dominator carburetor, MSD 7al 3 ignition, custom headers, griffin aluminum radiator and more. Transmission · The Transmission is TCI C6 built to handle big power. Rearend · Rearend is a built 9” currently with 4.10 gear for street driving. The car has front disc brakes. Headlights, taillights and fog light work. The car is very loud and sounds amazing. Custom gauge panel with autometer gauges. Two Kirkey seats so a passenger can cruise with you to local shows. The body of the car is very straight in my opinion, and has original quarters, doors, and fenders. The paint is pretty slick and shiny (not concourse) and looks great. The old school cobra jet and ford decals really set this car off. The car runs 9’s. The cage was certified for 7.50 and slower but Im sure would need a recert to bring it back up to date. Fuel cell, Optima Yellow top, and NOS bottle are all in the trunk. This is an awesome car.
