Description
1971 GMC 2500 Custom β 3/4-Ton, 2WD Long Bed This 1971 GMC 2500 Custom is a solid three-quarter-ton, 2WD long box with a strong drivetrain and lots of recent work. Itβs powered by a Chevy 350 that was recently refreshed with new aluminum heads and intake, long-tube headers, and an aluminum radiator. The 4-speed manual transmission was also just gone through.
Recent updates include new inner fenders, hood hinges, wheels and tires, window regulators, door latches, and door rubbers. The truck drives like a dream and presents clean overall, with very little rust. It will need some light bodywork, but itβs an excellent foundation.
A great start for someone looking for a classic GMCβselling due to too many projects.

GMC 2500 Buyer's Guide
Robert Halloran here. When I work on a ranch or a farm, everybody knows the difference between a half-ton truck and a three-quarter-ton truck. The three-quarter-ton is the one you hook up to the trailer. The half-ton is what the ranch owner drives to town. The GMC 2500 β the three-quarter-ton variant of the C/K series β is a working truck first, and everything about it reflects that purpose.
The square-body era 1973β1987 GMC 2500 has been discovered by the restomod community in recent years, but the honest truck market has always known these were the right trucks to have if you were actually going to use them. Better springs, heavier axle, stiffer frame β the 2500 is the 1500's older, more serious sibling.
