Description
1971 GMC K2500 Custom Pickup is a beautiful truck that came from the Pacific NW. It is rust free and has been restored. This was not a nut and bolt frame off restoration because it did not have to be. It was a frame on restored truck that was built to be driven and look excellent! We would consider this a higher end driver for someone.
Great running and driving truck!! The body is clean and straight and when it was restored it was professionally repainted in its original color of Medium Blue with a Rhino Lined Bed. They added all new chrome and stainless, new weatherstripping, and new window rubbers when it was painted. The underside is original and super clean (not restored) which shows how nice this truck was when they restored it.
We found no rust issues with this truck. The interior was restored and looks excellent!! It has new custom seat upholstery with matching custom door panels. It has a new dash pad, new dash bezel, new steering wheel, and new rubber floor mat.
They also put in new heater controls. The radio looks stock but is a modern style. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work including the factory tachometer.
The horn, heat, and wipers all work. Mechanically this truck is excellent!!! It has a 5.7L GM Goodwrench 350 V8 engine that runs strong with no issues. Added new HEI distributor. The GM Quadrajet Carb has been remanufactured and has dual exhaust.
Other than that everything looks pretty stock under the hood. It has the np435 4 Speed Manual transmission that shifts nice with a good clutch. It is mated to the np205 transfer case and the 4WD works like it should.
The rear axle is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and the front axle is a Dana 44 with 4.10 gears. Both have been rebuilt. This truck has power steering and power front disc brakes. Also a new brake master cylinder and all new brakes.
New emergency brake cables installed due to 4’ lift. It has a great look with the 4 Inch Lift Kit

Classic GMC Pickup Buyer's Guide
The classic GMC pickup market spans twenty-five years and three distinct platform generations across the post-war American truck era. The 1947-1955 Advance Design pickups established the modern post-war truck aesthetic. The 1955-1959 Blue Chip era brought V8 power and refined styling. The 1960-1972 Action Line era brought the modern chassis and bed designs that became the foundation of the legendary 1973 square-body. Across all three eras, GMC was positioned as the "professional grade" GM truck — heavier-duty engines, reinforced frames, and commercial-grade options that distinguished it from the higher-volume Chevrolet equivalent. The 1967-1972 Action Line short-bed Fleetside is the most actively collected GMC pickup era today. Don't buy somebody else's project — the frame and the cab are non-negotiable.
