Description
1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible. It is the fifth car of a five car collection that I'm selling for a good friend of mine. He purchased it in 2019 but it's been family owned. The 110 hp flat six cylinder air cooled engine has been rebuilt a few years ago and is mated up to a two speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
The body and undercarriage is very solid with no rust issues at all. The car runs and drives out beautifully. It can be driven anywhere. The entire car received a body-on restoration around ten years ago.
The paint finish still looks good for its age. The tires are new radial ply tires. The interior has also been restored nicely. The carpeting is not factory correct as you can see from the pictures. The lights and gauges work as they should.
Even the radio. These Corvair's are starting to climb in value and one day will be worth a lot more. I have over 55 pictures and a video upon request. It has a clear title. Classic Chevrolet Corvair Buyer's Guide
The Chevrolet Corvair was the most technically adventurous American car of the 1960s and the most politically controversial. Air-cooled, rear-engined, and available with a turbocharged engine two full decades before turbos became mainstream, the Corvair offered genuine European sports car character at Chevrolet prices. Ralph Nader painted it as dangerous; independent government testing largely exonerated the design. Today the Corvair is a legitimate collector car with a devoted community, excellent club support through CORSA, and one of the most engaging driving experiences in the classic American market — but its unique air-cooled engineering demands a buyer who knows what to inspect.
