Description
This is a time capsule with a remarkable story: a Fiberfab MG-TD replica that sat untouched in pieces for 32 years before final completion in July 2023. Built on a VW chassis with a 1600cc dual-port engine and 4-speed stick, the car was originally purchased in 1990 but never finished by its builder. Now fully restored with meticulous attention, it features a stunning original red gelcoat, new floorboards, fresh chrome dress-up kit, and period-correct details including a Rosewood MG steering wheel and wind wings.
Modern upgrades include an alternator, Petronix ignition, touch-screen Android stereo with GPS and Bluetooth, and new safety glass windshield. The original builder's receipts document thousands in quality work. This car has driven exactly 36 miles total: 6 miles for tune-up, 30 miles on the odometer from transport to a car show.
It comes with the original title, first title issued, and has never been registered or exposed to the elements. A truly singular ownership opportunity.

MG TD Buyer's Guide
Emily Chen here. The MG TD has a specific place in automotive history that gets overlooked in the modern muscle-and-performance conversation: it was the car that created the American sports car market. Returning US servicemen who had driven MGs in postwar Europe came home wanting the same experience. The TD, exported to America in large numbers from 1949 to 1953, gave them that experience at a price that was, for the era, surprisingly accessible.
The TD is not a fast car. In a straight line, it will lose to almost anything. But "fast" was never the point — the point was the experience of piloting a responsive, tactile machine on a twisting road, where the mechanical directness and the low weight create a connection to the driving experience that no modern car replicates. This is the core of why sports cars exist, and the TD communicates it more purely than almost any car built in the past 50 years.
