Description
This is a 1969 Cutlass S Club Coupe W31 Recreation. Most of the W31 parts that were used on this build, came off of a true W31 donor car. Parts were sand blasted, cleaned and re-installed on this very nicely done tribute car.
All the factory decals, paint markings etc...were carefully recreated back on this Cutlass. The 350 cu. in engine runs extremely strong mated up to it's Turbo 400 automatic transmission with the Hurst Shifter. The current 411:1 posi rear end really throws your head back when you step on the gas! It is a true Canadian Built Cutlass that was a radio delete car from the factory.
The engine was rebuilt using W31 engine specs...cam, valves, pistions, compression etc...It also has power steering and brakes for ease of driving. All of the lights and electrical components work except for the fuel gauge. The factory Topaz exterior color paint looks exceptional! The chrome and trim are like new as well.
The black bucket seats along with the rest of the interior looks new as well. It also has the rare W 27 quick change style rear end which looks great. The undercarriage looks absolutely new with every nut and bolt being replaced during the restoration.
I tried to photograph all of the casting numbers for the heads and block so may decode them if you wish. The wheels and tires are like new. The drives out beautifully and handles great. It has plenty of power to throw your head back in the seat! Classic Oldsmobile Cutlass Buyer's Guide
The Oldsmobile Cutlass launched for 1961 as the F-85 compact, became the foundation of the legendary 442 muscle-car program in 1964, and eventually grew into Oldsmobile's highest-volume nameplate by the late 1970s. Across twenty-eight years of classic-era production (1961-1988), the Cutlass spawned multiple legendary muscle-car variants: the original 442 (1964-1971), the Hurst/Olds limited editions (1968-1984), and the W-30 W-31 high-performance packages. The 1968-1972 A-body Cutlass 442 cars represent the high-water mark of Oldsmobile factory performance. The 1973-1977 Colonnade-body cars and the 1978-1988 G-body cars represent the bargain entry into Cutlass ownership today. This guide covers what every buyer should verify before paying premium money for any 442 or Hurst/Olds variant.
