Dubbed the Sprint 6, in 1966, John DeLorean special ordered a limited small number of these high performance versions of the OHC-6 to be installed in just a few 1966 and 1967 Pontiac Lemans Tempest Cars. This hopped up OHC-6 featured the new Rochester Quadra jet 4-barrel carb a high flow intake manifold, higher lift camshaft, and 10.5 to 1 compression ratio requiring premium fuel. 'Power increased from 165 hp (OHC-6) to 207 hp (Sprint 6), a sizeable 25% increase and making this one of the fastest 6 cylinder engines and cars ever made.'
