1961 Pontiac Ventura
Vehicle Details
Listing Description
1961 Pontiac Ventura 2 Dr HT PROJECT CAR. It was originally a automatic transmission car, but owner installed pedals (had not removed auto trans yet). Seat parts do not appear to be original to the car (they are out of car in some pics - last pic shows seats in car) were not bolted down in the car. Floor pan is good, but trunk needs partial or complete replacement ( may have a good trunk pan floor out of a 61 4 dr available,). Body has surface rust on it and some etching which is fixable. Rear roof posts have some cancer, and need repair (see pic). There are a few other thin spots or small holes on it, but all is repairable. The windshield and rear window appear good, as do the door windows. The vent window glass is broken out. The rear quarter windows are cracked, still in the frames, and in the trunk. Someone in the past put a cheap paint job on it with a very thin sealer coat, and time and exposure did some damage. Frame, etc appear OK. Engine code is clearly stamped 18-6K which does not appear in code books in that form, but does appear as a 18-K (no 6 with it) being a 62 or 63 (depending on casting number) 303HP 389CI, and it also appears as a 18-6 (no K with it) being a 63 313HP 389 tri power motor. Â can not see the casting number. Pontiac did a lot of weird things in 62 & 63 - code stamping looks factory original. Clear Title. Â IS MISSING TRIM, INTERIOR PARTS, AND A LOT OF OTHER PARTS Â have a lot of 61 front end parts in other 61 parts cars THIS IS A SALVAGE PARTS VEHICLE THAT IS NOT OPERATIONAL OR STREET LEGAL. IT WILL NEED TO BE LOADED ON A TRUCK OR TRAILER. This is not the easiest restoration, BUT, it is a 61 Ventura 2 DR HT BUBBLE TOP- one of the rarest and most sought after cars for restoration.Doors: 2
