1974 Volkswagen Thing

1974 THING I bought the car about 8 years ago as a project and drove it around the block a few times and parked it. Well, it the standard VW story I have too many projects and it’s time to thin the heard. It’s in very rough shape and needs a total restoration the pans are shot. The original color was off white, and the PO resprayed it to white. It is running from a nursing bottle because I have not cleaned out the gas tank. It’s an AM cased engine with the original transmission and correct exhaust. The headlights, four-way flashers and turn signal work. As you can see from the photos just about every panel needs to be replaced. It has a new battery and fuel pump. The windows in the photos are plexiglass that I cut, and gaffer taped into the frames to try to keep some of the element’s out. It has front and rear rubber floor pads and duck boards for the front and a show roll bar. It comes with a few rusty window frames. Needs to be tow it home this is being sold as a project car.
