1953 Willys (Overland) 1 Ton 4WD Jeep Pickup Truck - 283 V8 Engine California Truck since New w/ California Commercial Black Plates This nice original looking 1953 Willys 1 Ton 4WD Jeep Pickup has been in California since it was built in 1953 according to the California Title Documents that come with the truck. The truck still retains the early 1960’s California Commercial “Black Plates”. The engine on this Jeep truck was previously upgraded to a mid 1960’s Chevrolet 283 V8 with Power Pack Heads, Finned Aluminum Valve Covers, 2 bbl Rochester Carburetor (just rebuilt), chrome air cleaner and dual exhaust with Chrome Tips. This 4WD Pickup is still equipped with a 3-Speed Manual Transmission mated with a High / Low Transfer Case that gives a total of six forward speeds & two in reverse. The front hubs were at some point upgraded to the Cutlas Bulldog Locking Hubs that are currently on this Willys Truck. This vintage Jeep Truck looks beautiful with recent paint, interior and carpet. From the listing pictures, you will also see that the truck’s underside and chassis are in very good condition as to be expected from a true Southern California vehicle. This Willys 1 Ton Truck runs/drives well plus all exterior lights including the turn signals and original gauges (Speedometer, Fuel, Amp & Temperature) are working. An auxiliary Oil Pressure Gauge was previously added to the left underside of the dash near the steering wheel. The truck was recently serviced, checked out and is all ready to go!
