Bring Home a 1 of 188 LS6 Big-Block '71 Corvette!

You may have heard about the LS6 Chevelle SS454 of 1970, a muscle car so powerful that it became a holy grail of the collector-car hobby. Did you know that Chevrolet produced a very limited number of LS6 Corvettes the following year and they are so rare that many people have never heard of them?

Fifty years ago, Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus Duntov battled Chevrolet to bring two brutal big-block behemoths to the Corvette line-up. Faced with significant pushback from America's insurance industry, the muscle-car era was quickly coming to a screeching halt. But Duntov was able to sneak one last super-performance engine through to production - the 425hp LS6 big-block. Priced at over $1,220 when the second highest 454ci engine was only $150, the LS6 V-8 was more than pricey, it was mighty. Car and Driver magazine said, "It's Duntov's favorite engine and he's tortured because few customers can afford it."

Only 188 LS6 Corvettes were produced. Today, just like the LS6 Chevelles, they are the holy grails of collectible Chevrolets.
