SEMA Show
The world's premier automotive specialty products trade show
The SEMA Show β Specialty Equipment Market Association β is the largest automotive aftermarket trade show on earth. Held every November at the Las Vegas Convention Center, it draws 160,000+ industry professionals from 140+ countries and features over 2,400 exhibiting companies. Not open to the general public, SEMA is where the automotive industry decides what's next: new products, custom builds, trends, and technology. The custom cars built specifically to appear at SEMA each year represent the cutting edge of automotive design and fabrication.
π‘ Did You Know?
The SEMA Show generates over $16 billion in annual industry revenue. It's not just a car show β it's a trade show where suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers set the direction of the aftermarket for the next 12 months.
SEMA is closed to the general public. You need trade credentials β a valid business license in the automotive industry β to attend. It's genuinely a professional-only event, despite featuring some of the most spectacular custom cars in existence.
The "SEMA Battle of the Builders" final takes place on the last day of the show. Builders fly in their best work from across the country, assembled specifically to compete. Winners are considered among the top custom fabricators in the world.
The truck and off-road section of SEMA has grown to rival the car section. In many recent years, Ford F-150 and Ram 1500-based custom builds have outnumbered muscle car builds on the show floor β reflecting the market's shift.
History
The Specialty Equipment Market Association was founded in 1963, initially representing the hot rod and performance aftermarket. The Las Vegas show began in the 1970s and has grown into a citywide event β the SEMA campus stretches across multiple convention halls and outdoor lots. The "Battle of the Builders" competition crowns the top custom car fabricator each year and is one of the most competitive awards in the industry.
