Description
1965 Chevrolet El Camino, Frame-Off Restored, Over 1,000 Miles Since Completion The 1965 El Camino represents a unique chapter in Chevrolet history equal parts muscle car and utility vehicle, built on the proven Chevelle platform and designed to do it all. This particular example has been taken to the next level with a full frame-off restoration completed just two years ago, and it has driven just over 1,000 miles since completion. That means you're not looking at a tired driver with fresh paint.
You're looking at a properly restored El Camino that still feels fresh, tight, and dialed in. Under the hood sits a strong 283 cubic inch V8 engine paired with a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission a classic, reliable drivetrain combination that delivers smooth cruising power and dependable performance. The engine bay presents cleanly, and the car starts easily, runs strong, and shifts the way it should.
The exterior is finished in a sharp teal paint that complements the body lines beautifully. The panels are straight, the gaps are solid, and the finish shows very well. The body has that clean, confident look that makes a mid-60s Chevrolet stand out without trying too hard.
Inside, you'll find a clean black bench seat interior that keeps the car true to its roots. The cabin is simple, functional, and well-done — just the way an El Camino should be. A tachometer has been added, giving it a subtle performance touch while maintaining a period-correct feel.
Underneath, the floors are clean and solid a true testament to the quality of the restoration. The frame-off process addressed the car properly, not just cosmetically. One standout feature is the brand-new dual exhaust system.
Nearly $2,000 was invested into the exhaust alone, and it shows. It sounds exactly the way a small-block Chevrolet should crisp at idle, strong under throttle, and smooth cruising down the road. It's not obnoxious just right.
This El Camino sits on Weld Racing wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich white letter radial tires, giving it a tasteful performance stance while still respecting the era. It's the right balance of classic and subtle modern touch. Equipped with power steering, this car is easy to drive and comfortable whether you're heading to a show, cruising on the weekend, or simply enjoying a summer evening drive.
With just over 1,000 miles since its frame-off restoration, this 1965 Chevrolet El Camino is essentially a fresh build that's already been sorted and proven on the road. If you're Ready to drive. Ready to show.

Classic Chevrolet El Camino Buyer's Guide
The Chevrolet El Camino has lived two distinct lives across nearly thirty years of production. The original 1959-1960 cars were full-size Brookwood-based station wagon-pickup hybrids that competed directly with the Ford Ranchero. The El Camino disappeared for three years before returning in 1964 as a mid-size A-body car-pickup based on the Chevelle, and that's the El Camino most enthusiasts know and want today. From the 1968-1972 SS396 cars to the 1970 SS454 LS6 (yes, the El Camino was available with the 450-horsepower LS6 in 1970) to the smooth Colonnade-bodied 1973-1977 cars and the squared-off 1978-1987 final-generation, the El Camino market is one of the most underappreciated segments in the entire classic GM hobby. The truck guys love them, the muscle car guys love them, and the prices have moved accordingly over the past decade.
