This 1942 Ford Deluxe (not Super Deluxe) 4-door sedan, titled as a 1941 (it was built in December, 1941), has had virtually everything rebuilt with the exception of the differential. The car has been stripped down to virtually the last bolt (except for the differential...). The frame was cleaned and painted. The body is very solid, with good original floorboards; it was sent to the body shop, where it was repaired, primed and painted original Ford Fathom blue. The engine was completely rebuilt with new bearings, pistons, valves, adjustable lifters, oil pump, timing gear. It is the correct 1942 block, bored 20 over. The starter, generator, and carburetor are all rebuilt and correct. It has new water pumps, a new clutch, and a re-cored radiator. All the wiring is new and correct. The engine has not been started since it was rebuilt (owner has not figured out the wiring), so it may take some work to get it running. The battery is a new Optima dry cell housed in their fake period-looking shell. The gas tank, gas line, and fuel pump are new. The suspension, front and rear, has been rebuilt, with all new brakes (new springs, shoes, wheel and master cylinders, hoses). It has four original, working (more or less) shocks. The lights, front and rear, have been rebuilt. The bumpers are correct (1942 Deluxe used 1941 Super Deluxe bumpers), but are of mediocre quality. They came From Bumper Boyz in California, and that is a mistake I am not likely to make again--they are good enough for casual use, but I planned to get better ones later on. However, the bumper guards are pretty nice... The heater is correct for 1942 and rebuilt. All the instruments are NOS and should work perfectly. The Deluxe didn't come with a clock, but it was an available option; owner likes the way it balances the dashboard, so he put one (NOS) in. The dashboard and the window surrounds have been wood grained; the glass is new all around, with the correct window bugs.Doors: 4
