I’ve owned this car for about 5 years purchasing it from the 2nd Owner who had the car since 1955 (I still have a copy of the 1955 title). It currently has a clean Illinois title. Overall, this is a great car. I’ve driven it quite a bit and it runs and drives great and with a new clutch (see below), it would be ready for the road again. With that, I want to make sure that I describe this car accurately to provide as much information as possible to manage expectations. Here are the details: The car has predominantly stored indoors in my heated and cooled garage. This leaves the car with minimal rust. It appears to have the original engine fitted with an aluminum racing valve cover and a 4-speed gear box allowing it to reach higher speeds than the original. The car is also fitted with an original vintage aftermarket Italmeccanica Supercharger. A totally cool and rare option. It doesn’t add too much to the performance of the car but the “whine” it makes on a car this size catches quite a bit of attention from the collectors. The car runs and drives well with no issues except it now needs a clutch. It had been slipping a little since I’ve owned the car and it has finally given out. It will need one prior to driving on the road. I do have a video of the car running if you request it. The car has a NEW stainless steel gas tank, sending unit and a complete new exhaust all from Service Motors (Crosley specialists) and the starter was just professionally rebuilt. The paint job is very presentable with a few scratches and chips but from 5 feet away, the car looks great. The “woodie” decals are new from Service Motors have been professionally installed on the sides and rear of the car. Tires are old and showing some minor dry rot. If you plan to drive it for any significant distance you may want to replace them. The car has been converted to a 12-volt system and has a new ignition coil, starter solenoid and diehard battery. All lights and original OEM accessory turn signals work. Windshield and rear sliding side windows have no cracks but have some minor scratches Driver side and passenger side door glass is missing. I do have 1 of the pieces but I am missing the other 3. The car has no interior except the seats and will need the vinyl covered cardboard panels to complete. No wiper arms or linkage and it is missing the front Crosley badge and hood ornament. All can be purchased easily from Crosley specialist shops.
Please email or call me to discuss additional detail on the car. I would be happy to answer any questions or provide any additional pictures. Andy (630-327-7462) or ajohnson04@mchsi.com $7,995 obo.
