Beautiful 48 Ford Woody with all the comfort of a new car. The art form of coach building an automobile by hand, from scratch, seems a skill forever lost to modern robots and computers these days. From the very inception of the automobile, nearly every piece was hand shaped, sculpted, and perfected with just the human eye as your guide. As more sophisticated and complicated designs came about in the 1930's & 1940's, the use of aluminum and wood offered a new medium of bringing shape and structure together. There is no better form of the use of wood than the Woody Wagon! Professional wood carpenters would precision cut and fit individual pieces to create a masterpiece of bodywork that stretched from the chassis to the roof! As you can imagine, the cost to build such a vehicle was very slow and expensive process, and by the early 1950�s, it came to an end by most manufactures. Very few of these magnificent Woodies exist today, and to see one fully restored is always a treat! This beautifully restored 1948 Ford Woody Wagon finished in gorgeous Dark Green with Tan Leatherette interior and matching Tan Canvas top! The gorgeous wood body was expertly refinished by Wood Carr based in Signal Hill, CA and looks amazing! Power comes from a ZZ4 350ci crate engine fitted with aluminum heads, intake with Edelbrock carburetor, and Sanderson exhaust manifolds! The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed overdrive transmission with auxiliary cooler mated to a Currie 9.5 inch Ford rear end well suited for highway speeds! Options include Chassis Engineering Mustang II front end offering power disc brakes with dual master cylinder and power rack & pinion steering; Vintage Air air conditioning/heat/defrost; upgraded Alpine AM/FM/Cassette radio with 6-disc CD changer mounted discretely under the rear passenger seat along with 4 wonderfully hidden speakers throughout the cabin; leather wrapped Lacarra Banjo style steering wheel on a tilt column; full dash instrumentation in the stock location.Body Style: WagonDoors: 4
