1948 HILLMAN MINX CONVERTIBLE COUPE STORED IN A GARAGE IN CHICAGO SINCE 1976. PURCHASED THIS CONVERTIBLE TWO YEARS AGO FROM A FRIEND. SHE BOUGHT MINX FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER BACK IN 1976. SHE PUT IT IN THE GARAGE AND THERE IT SAT FOR THE LAST 42 YEARS. LAST YEAR TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE. NEW BATTERY, MASTER CYLINDER, HEAD GASKET, BRAKES, FLUSHED AND CHANGED ALL FLUIDS ETC. THE MINX RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT (LIKE A 71 YEAR OLD CAR). THE CAR STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINAL CONVERTIBLE TOP WITH WOODEN BLOWS. THE BODY IS DENT AND RUST FREE. THE CHROME AND BRIGHT WORK IS EXCELLENT. THE INTERIOR SHOWS VERY WELL. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY UNIQUE VEHICLE. THE CAR HAS FACTORY 12 VOLT SYSTEM (NOT INTRODUCED BY GM UNTIL 1955). 4 SPEED ON THE COLUMN, SWING OUT LIGHTED TURN SIGNAL ARMS AND A CONVERTIBLE TOP THAT CAN BE PUT HALF WAY DOWN ALLOWING THE REAR PASSENGERS TO REMAIN UNDER IT.
