1949 Mercury 2 door coupe. This is truly a survivor that has been mildly customized and yet it still is a remarkable car to take for a drive. I have driven this car many, many miles and has never given me any issues. You will have a hard time finding another classic 2 door Mercury coupe like this one for sale in this super nice condition.FIRST OF ALL, PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS CAR JUSTICE...... So, basically, this car is a 2 door coupe with 90k original miles. Interior is in excellent condition as is the exterior. The black paint job was done at least 20 years ago but looks like it was recently painted. Yes, it is that nice. Many decals were removed and the car was smoothed and repainted. The car has the original 1949 Mercury Flathead motor, 3 speed on the tree transmission with Overdrive, and it sounds amazing.....just like flatheads do, not to mention it drives perfectly. It has been stored in a heated garage and has always been on a battery tender. Yes, it is still 6 Volt nostalgia! There is No Rust anywhere on this car. The entire car was undercoated underneath a very long time ago and has held up great. I just recently put new wheels and tires on this car, Coker Wide Whites with smoothy steel wheels and 1957 Cadillac Hubcaps. I do, however, have the original wheels and hubcaps too, which are very rare. All the trim is in perfect condition. The bumpers, grille and bright work are also in perfect condition. There is an aftermarket electronic fuel pump which takes care of commonly known vapor lock issues and has been flawless as such.
