1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria, Tastefully Built Restomod, Windsor Power, AOD Overdrive This 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria is a beautifully built and thoughtfully upgraded classic that blends timeless 1950s styling with modern performance, comfort, and reliability. Showing 71,800+ miles (not 718,000), this Victoria has clearly benefited from careful ownership and a well-executed build focused on drivability and enjoyment. Under the hood sits a strong 351 Ford Windsor equipped with AFR aluminum heads, a Ford X cam, Edelbrock chrome intake, and a Quick Fuel Technology 735 VS carburetor. Cooling is handled by a three-core Champion aluminum radiator with auxiliary core, supported by a mechanical fan and an additional electric fan to accommodate the air conditioning. The engine bay is further enhanced with a Borgeson power steering conversion with CFC pump and Classic Auto Air, complete with electric fan control and carb solenoid idle management for smooth operation. Power is delivered through a completely rebuilt AOD automatic transmission featuring heavy-duty Alto Red clutch packs and a Frank Lupo 3000 RPM stall converter. A balanced driveshaft sends power to a Ford 9-inch rear end with Traction-Lok and 3.55:1 gearing, providing excellent acceleration while maintaining comfortable highway cruising thanks to overdrive. The chassis is equally well sorted with traction bars, air shocks, additional leaf springs, and front and rear sway bars (1 1/8” front, 15/16” rear). Stopping power comes from power disc/drum brakes with a line lock, while 2-inch dropped spindles give the car a confident, planted stance. Inside, the Victoria features a very nice custom interior highlighted by 1991 Mercury Cougar bucket seats, including a power driver seat, and a two-level center console offering storage, a 12-volt power source, and a centralized fuse and wiring hub. Additional features include a B&M Mega Shifter, Ford Masterpiece gauges, four-way flashers, backup lights, windshield washer system, Juliano banjo steering wheel, and Classic Auto Air A/C. The entire interior floor has been treated with aluminum/butyl sound dampening and moisture barrier, topped with excellent carpeting for a refined ride. The trunk is equally well finished with carpeted hidden storage, a full-size spare, and a hydraulic jack, showing the same attention to detail found throughout the car. It rides on 15x8 steel wheels with 245/60/15 tires, delivering a clean, period-correct look with modern performance. Finished in 2000 Lincoln Autumn Red Metallic (#6934), the car presents beautifully with a rich, deep color that complements the Fairlane’s classic lines.
