The rear suspension is the Hotchkiss drive system transferring the thrust of the rear wheels to the frame through the rear springs! The rear axles are semi-floating type cut so the driving pinion meshes with the ring gear well below the center of gravity. This allows the low profile modern contemporary look with the low drive shaft, low floors and low rear floor tunnel to give the result of 'road hugging” trendsetting design no other automobile car had a this time!
