1958 Ford Skyliner Fairlane 500 restored. Careful attention has been paid to keep this car as close as possible to the original. Have resisted all temptations to put modern upgrades into this car, it is as they were made way back in 1958. Have owned this car for 18 years, prior to current ownership this car was built, bought and lived in California, not too far from LA. This is a driver, though not too far from showcase quality, consider this a good solid B+ driver, if not an A. any time it goes to cruise night or 'The Nationals' it is a real attention grabber, love to watch as An old timer stops to show his family with an arm motion how that hard top slides effortlessly into the trunk. These were quite the engineering feat back in the mid to late 50's, many patents were awarded to Ford for some of the things that went into making that top work. There were several engine options in 1958, the top of the list is this 352 8 cylinder originally with 300 hp right from the factory. This car has power brakes and steering. it has the old crank windows and the interior fabric is original to the model year and in very good condition (most modern restorations have gone to vinyl, this is the real deal). The original Town and Country radio is still in place. Inside the trunk Ford offered the option of a center tub for keeping incidentals, this car does not have that option, although they are still available for purchase. It is ready to go. The wide whitewalls are only 2 years old made by Diamondback Tire Co. This car has passed inspection every year, it is ready to go.
