1961 Dodge Polara Drives Great 361V8 Push Button Body Interior VGoodThis 1961 Dodge Polara is ready to rock and was driven as a daily driver until just recently, it is fully sorted. Big torque is on tap from the original 361cid V8, and power is put to the wheels through the Push Button Automatic transmission. It’s a fun, reliable, and highly original example of classic Mopar funkiness, and it gets attention all over town. We simply love the TAIL LIGHTS!! These cars were used extensively in 1961 as Police Cars, we were stunned. The original green paint complements the bold styling well. From a strictly cosmetic standpoint, the car is in good shape, the paint shines nicely as is good driver quality. We do really like the originality of the car just the way it sits. We really like the Mopar Funky Factor, it is easily a 11 with the super cool tail lights. You can't see them from a bunch of angles, who needs lights in the back anyway?? The undercarriage is in great shape, too. Light surface rust along is the only real signs of age, as this car was garaged its whole life. The frame rails are very solid and need no attention along with the rockers and pans. Beyond the light surface issues, simply drive it, take it to the mall or to Sams Club. The interior has held up well. The seats are upholstered in the original cloth and have held up well with only minor slits in a couple of spots, it could use a recover at some point but can be enjoyed now. Both the front and back seats are comfortable, fully usable, and ready for an enjoyable trip with friends or the grandkids. Overall, this is a very solid and highly original Dodge Polara. You can do some minor work to complete a cosmetic restoration, if you want to bring it back to its original appearance, but it’s also a cool, fast, and fully functional relic just the way it sits, and with those tail lights you will make some new friends.
