1961 International Scout 80 4X4. The Scout 80 is the original Scout beginning production in 1960 followed by the Scout 800 in 1965. This is an original Scout 80 and is identifiable by it's removable sliding side windows available through early 1962, a fold-down windshield, vacuum windshield wipers mounted to the top on the windshield and an IH logo in the central of the grille. It also has a removable hard-top. The Scout 80 is powered by an extremely reliable and 152 cubic inch, slant four-cylinder engine, 3 speed manual transmission and Internationals well known 4 wheel drive system. This Scout has a new clutch, new spark plugs, new plug wires, new electric fuel pump and new battery. The negatives of this vehicle is that both rocker panels are rusted, one of the driver's side door hinges is broken and needs to be re-welded or replaced, and it is missing one of the gas caps. The 1961 model is the first year the Scout was offered. The Scout is known for their ability to go anywhere and have high durability. The International Scout is considered to be the first American SUV.
