With 54,709 miles, this 1963 23-Window Bus features a rebuilt, matching-numbers 1500cc single-port engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. Upgraded to a 12-volt system, the Bus is complete with a sliding ragtop sunroof, original 15-inch wheels and sealing wax red and white exterior finish with matching bumpers, bumper guards and side-mounted step under the side pivot-hinged door. Inside, the VW hosts the two-tone light and medium gray vinyl upholstery with matching carpeting. It even has a clock and original-style radio. Rust-free and extremely well detailed, finding such a first-generation Type 2 23-Window Bus is indeed a rare treat. This is the Bus that made VW people movers so popular.
