Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS For Sale This amazing 1970 Camaro RS-SS Split Bumper car is one of a few classics that we have acquired from a very special private collection. Each one of these classics could be considered one of the best in existence and each has a special significance in the classic car world. This incredible machine came from the Van Nuys California Plant exactly as you see it; with its original CTX code, 396ci engine pushing 350hp, with a 4 speed transmission and Posi- traction rear. Today, this car still retains each of those factory original options and more. The build sheet shows that this car was a special ZL3 code car. Our research shows that a ZL3 code car was a car that was converted to a 396 somewhere along the assembly line. It may have been designated as a basic Camaro then changed in the factory to what you see here. Other codes such as Z22 (Rally Sport) & Z27 (Super Sport) are also on the build sheet. This designation has brought debate and interest to collectors and enthusiasts throughout the Chevy world. If you have any further information on these codes, let us know. The debates are still wide open almost 50 years later. We’d love to know your thoughts. Other stand outs are the Y02 & Y03 codes, custom front and custom rear seats. Special Tail Lamps, Special Instrumentation, Drip Moldings, Floor Deadeners (Y05), Delux Interior and Custom Trim are all special options on this car. The factory Citrus Green color is also a rarely seen color for this car. Ive never seen it on any Chevy, period! The car was beautifully restored in 2011 and is nearly flawless today. This California cars undercarriage is 100% rust free but does show mild usage, the only factor keeping this car from being a true #1 car. The body, body lines, paint, chrome and interior are literally perfect. She also starts, drives and stops flawlessly and every single option and gauge works as it was intended, including the clock.
