Chevrolet Chevelle SS For Sale What do we mean when we say "a once in a lifetime find"? Something youd see on a classic car TV show! A Wayne Carini moment! You are looking at one of the most desirable Muscle Cars in history. A Chevrolet Chevelle SS that is documented with all of the right paperwork. A true Original, unrestored unmolested CTX code 396/350hp engine with a 4 speed transmission, casting code 3969854. The Cowl Induction Hood and even the original carburetor. Factory 12 bolt rear dual exhaust and more. More? This Chevelle SS has been in the same family since it was purchased new on August 21st, 1970 which would be the very end of the 1970 model year. The 1971 models were already on the market by this date. Maybe, the original owner made himself a good deal by buying last years model. Speaking of the original owner, He was in his 50s when he bought his first Muscle Car in 1970, and what a car it was! He kept his Chevelle SS in incredible and All Original condition throughout its life until his passing in 2005. It was then passed on to his son who had also passed just over a year ago. The original window sticker, warranty card, Protecto-Plate, original bill of sale, original documents, original owners manual all reflect the same address of the home of the original owner from 1970. This Chevelle SS has spent its entire life at this address which would also account for the amazingly low, 17200 actual miles on the car today. The family explained to us how they thought he was crazy for buying a car like that at his age. Theyve also mentioned how little their father actually drove the car which is very obvious upon inspection. We do not yet have the build sheet for the car but Id bet money that it is still in the car. The rear seat has never been removed. We have found an ID Sheet on old perforated printer paper that was still stapled under the drivers seat just by vacuuming. If thats is still there, the build sheet cant be far off. This is a true unrestored original with just 17200 actual miles. The rear tires are the Original F14-70 Wide Ovals that came on the car and still have good tread left. The front are new Coker Wide Ovals and the original 2 front tires were kept and are shown in the photos. The chrome is immaculate as is all the trim pieces. Paint is fantastic. Weve had a few good body men look into the paint and they could not agree as to whether or not ALL of the paint was original however, they all did agree that if it was repainted at all, it was done back in the late 70s to mid 80s. The family does not recall ever seeing the car repainted. The car has NO rust, is super straight with all original body panels and has never been hit. The car runs and drives perfectly. It starts instantly and drives straight and true with no noises or rattles. The clutch feels nice and the car is fast fast fast. Brakes are new and they are power brakes. It was factory equipped with power steering and power brakes. It was not a highly optioned car yet what it does have, works perfectly. The Cowl pops right up, the heat, wipers, lights and signals all work perfectly.. The windows roll up & down easily. The factory split bench seats are a rare choice for such a car and are like new. They slide easily and have seat belts front and back. The steering wheel looks brand new and the horn works. The AM radio also works perfectly. The original T3 headlights are still on the car. Even the buzzer works when you open the doors. Both sets of original keys are still with the car. Take a good look at this car! The way you see it here is the way it came from the factory and Amity Chevrolet 47 years ago. We have not detailed it for these photographs, no Armor-All was rubbed into the interior seating or dash, the bumpers were not rechromed and the undercarriage is 100% original as well.
