1971 OLDSMOBILE CUSTLASS SUPREME 'SX', 455 V8, TH400 AUTO TRANS wearing its born in 'Matador Red' exterior color and Black interior and showing 33,106 on the odometer (TMU). This is a rare bird with very few made and if you have not heard of one... Oldsmobile made a special package called 'SX' that encompassed all the muscle car things available in 71 to allow you to run with the big dogs of years gone by...without the 442 badge causing inflated insurance rates. This one still retains its factory AM/FM 8 Track radio and is also a A/C car as well (not working) so is highly optioned for 1971. Hinting at performance this car had is the SX badging on the fenders and the chrome exhaust trumpet cut outs in the rear bumper (ala 4-4-2) but that was about the only sign of the iron being pumped under that flat hood. The engine code L32 is what was available in 1971, the 455 V8 with 320 hp & 460-lbs.ft. of torque at 2,800 rpm's so it was a monster. Of course it took the Turbo Hydro-matic 400 transmission to handle the power.
