1971 Opel GT For Sale Beautiful, rare 1971 Opel GT with an incredible documented story and history. Purchased new at the dealer in New Hampshire in 1971, the first owner drove the car 19,000 miles and then sold it on May 23, 1973 to its second owner, also in New Hampshire. I purchased a car from the second owner who is maintained it with every single receipt fitted in a three ring binder starting from 1973 until now. The car has had one professional repaint and its original color of flame red which included for bodywork in 2013. It is also had a documented, rebuilt original engine including head work, pistons, bearings etc. as well as a new clutch fitted while resealing the four-speed manual gearbox with less than 6000 miles on them. The car is absolutely stock right down to it original AM/FM radio with the exception of a few thoughtful upgrades listed here. New carpet was installed in 2014, a Weber 2 barrel 32/36 carburetor with electric choke was installed in 2017, a stainless steel 2 inch exhaust system was installed in 2018, PerTronics electronics ignition was installed in 2019. It has also had upper and lower ball joints, new KYB front and rear shocks, new rear coil springs, new front brake calipers and brake hoses, a new bar parking brake cable, a new brake master cylinder and much, much more. Most recently it is received new weatherstripping, new wheel trim rings, a recent full service and tune-up, new rearview mirror, new door window track seals, outer window seals, all new lenses from turn signals to marker lights to brake lights, back up lights and license plate lights. A new, modern retractable driver seat belt was just installed, it has a new battery With battery disconnect, rides on a nice set of Pirelli P 400 radials, comes with its tool roll, Jack, spare tire, original owners manual and the original 1971 New Hampshire license plates. Also included is a three ring binder containing roughly 175 maintenance and repair invoices in chronological order from 1973 through 2021. Recently the car was taken to a professional high in detail shop for wet sanding, color correction, buffing and hand waxing. Everything on the car is in proper working order from the horn, to the wipers, to all the lights, instrument panel lights, even the radio. Included are many undercarriage photos showing it's beautifully rust free and unmolested state from properly being stored, serviced and cared for. Overall, this is an extraordinarily nice GT, completely unmolested, 2 owner car with tremendous documentation and very few flaws. It even comes with a brand new clock, should someone decide to install it. The car runs, drives, shifts, steers and stops beautifully and currently has no mechanical needs at all.
