1972 Jaguar XKE 2+2 VIN: 1S72746 condition: good cylinders: 12 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 86374 paint color: red title status: clean transmission: automatic type: coupe Selling very respectable Series III E Type Coupe that runs and drives well. Not perfect but very good for a 50 year old car that is mostly original. Car has had one repaint many years ago but remains in primarily original condition. The pictures should speak for themselves, if you're reading this ad you likely know at least a little bit about these cars. I have owned the car for about 7 years and bought it here in Colorado. I picked it up in Grand Junction from an elderly man that rarely drove it. Needs a little work (like almost all old cars) but not much, and I need to reduce the size of my collection. The plate / tray that holds the battery has rusted through and is gone but that is the only rust I've found on the car. The car is virtually rust free. Cam (valve) cover gaskets leak oil a bit, not terrible, but certainly noticeable. Other minor leaks as well but such is life with old British cars, or old cars in general. Newly rebuilt alternator with new voltage regulator also new battery - charging system is now in top shape. New Pertronix electronic ignition system (their best - Ignitor II Series) and high output coil just installed. Factory system was quite unreliable. New spark plugs and plug wires. NGK plugs and Napa's best Belden wires. I've had a couple of these cars and this one runs very strong. Transmission shifts crisply and works as it should.
