1973 Volkswagen Thing has been offered for sale. I’ve owned and driven these unique cars for over 30 years! This 1973 THING is a really high quality example. Rust Free in and out, top to bottom, with 4 original steel fenders, perfect floors, rockers, jack points and body. I don’t think anyone thought these fun 4 door convertibles, with off road capability, would survive 38 years with more followers and fans than ever! Volkswagen Thing enthusiasts, clubs, rallies, meets, are growing worldwide! Parts and accessories are easily available, and reasonable too. These VW THINGS are eligible for low cost collector insurance as well. The interest in VW THINGS continues to grow. Prices are growing steadily, as more people want to own one…Take a good look at this very nice, honest survivor I’m se This 1973 THING makes a great appearance in Bright Red inside and out, complimented with white wall tires and (look great, little wear, not new) white interior, with white accent stripes on the hood and sides. 4 perfect chrome VW hub caps on excellent correct red wheels. It was freshened up about 4 years ago and retains its beautiful appearance and handling qualities. It was properly taken apart including the windshield glass, with all new rubber seals and fender welting. New white upholstery and white sun visors were installed at that time, including a black top which is in great condition. A Thing Shop glove box door was installed and an am/fm radio and speakers added. A red and black (THING SHOP) carpet set compliments the floors and glove compartment. An excellent red repaint that looks almost new today was done at that time, which included removing all 4 fenders, windshield, frame, hood,, trunk, and all 4 wheels. The entire interior including dash were beautifully refinished. The interior floors were painted black, as were the floor bottoms and entire undercarriage. Up front are 2 new Hella Fog Lights and a handsome new steel push bar. Always garaged, adult driven.Body Style: ConvertibleDoors: 4
