1981 Volvo Bertone Coupe For Sale5.0L V8 Sway This is the Ultimate Sleeper Super rare Bertone coupe with only 135k miles & only 912 made in this their last production year. With 60% of the 1981 262's staying in Europe. I am the 3rd owner of this gutsy black on black super car. All original leather interior and jet black exterior with every factory option working as it should. From the outside you wouldn't know 300 horses are hidden under the hood. With "zero rust " this Bertone coupe has a V8 Mustang 5.0 ltr 302ci engine. What the Italian designer Bertone would have done if Volvo corporate would have funded from day one. The 302ci weighed in equal to the Volvo V6 engine. The 5.0 V8 fit right in the car with no cutting or molding.to the body. The engine install was done in 2002 and is as clean and neat a fit as you will ever see. The Bertone coupe now has a 1992 Ford Mustang HO EFI and AOD transmission retaining the Volvo dana 30 limited slip differential. Acceleration is smooth and relentless and light years ahead of the 1981 Volvo the car has many upgraded parts, such as anti sway bars, shocks, strut tower connecting bars, european single headlights, etc. This is a drive anywhere reliable & dependable road car / street rod, retro with all the comforts and safety of the classic Volvo tradition.
