The 4-4-2 name derives from the original car's four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts. The 442 we have here at Skyway is a real 442, not a clone or tribute car like you see on a lot of other national sites, and it still retains the 442 idea with a 4-barrel carburetor, 4-speed automatic with overdrive, and dual exhaust. It runs a 4-speed automatic with overdrive with an 8.5-inch GM corporate differential. That said, this one has the G80 limited slip diff, and the #9 on the 8th number of the vin, so this is a real deal rare one! It is equipped with 3.73:1 ring and pinion final drive gears while it rides on the Oldsmobile factory type chrome styled mag wheels and BF Goodrich Radial TA white letter tires. Interior The original looking maroon interior is stock and in great shape and features maroon front high-back bucket seats and matching rear seat with matching door panels, carpet, factory dash with all the original gauges and controls, factory pushbutton radio still remains, unique Lightning Rod shifter, air conditioning, with everything looking like the time capsule that it really is. The trunk looks equally original with the mat, spare tire, and jack. Exterior It wears the iconic silver with the black bottom and red stripes, and Hurst/Olds callouts, and really stands out with the Hurst hood, rear spoiler, painted front and rear bumpers, and the half/top painted in black, all to let you know, that this isn't your grandfather's Oldsmobile. This is a muscle car, a real 442 with great badging and looks and it certainly has the great sound of 442 power with the dual exhausts sticking out the back too.
