The truck looks and drives great! Started with a blue 90 hard top and went to work! Stripped the truck down and repaired or replaced almost everything. Frame solid all the way from end to end. No patches, rust or other issues. We sanded the frame down and fully coated it for long term protection. We patched a small part of the passenger side foot well that was very minor and will not be a future issue. We removed the original 19J 2.5 TD motor and replaced it with a Discovery-born, solid running 200 Tdi motor. Donor truck and motor had about 80k miles on it. Motor received new timing belt as well as general refresh and service. Starts immediately on the first turn and settles into a nice idle. No abnormal sounds, smoke or otherwise. Truck accelerates and pulls better than most and smoothly shifts up and down thru all the gears as it should. Again, no odd sounds, shakes or otherwise. Transfer case works as it should as well. New puma style doors with new bits and pieces close very easily and tightly. Dash is straight, but cracked in places, purchase a new one and install it for less than $200. With the sound system, you can be doing highway speeds with the top down and still enjoy your favorite tunes! Also comes with a FULL black soft top, but it has two tears above the window panels from the moving company mishandling it when I shipped it over. Have been trying to get that replaced but they've been ducking and dodging my phone calls. It still works, patched it up with zip-ties for the time being, but I never use it since I prefer the Surrey- style top. I have clear California title until November 2020 (doesn't require smog, just renew online). Minor issues: Thermometer doesn't work. Neither does the A/C. Can't lock the passenger door with the key, have to lock before closing the door. Video shows left fog light not working, will get that fixed ASAP. Also, the right high beam doesn't work, but also getting that fixed ASAP. Hood has dents from the shipping company that I will get fixed and repainted (will also remove the spare tire carrier that was there, stay tuned for updated photos).
