Description
This is the 2199th GT 350 built by Shelby American—a true early production example with remarkable provenance. A complete rotisserie restoration fourteen years ago preserved its authenticity while a numbers-matching 289 Hi-Po engine now delivers approximately 350 horsepower with period-correct modifications including Probe pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, and a roller rocker top end. The original close-ratio four-speed transmission, original 9-inch rear with 3.89 gears, and all internal components remain with the car.
Original black paint covers the exterior, though this car arrived at the original Portland dealership in Dark Moss Green before being repainted by the first owner. An original, never-mounted Magstar wheel sits in the trunk, representing the optional wheel package. The 715 CFM carburetor feeds the original intake manifold, while Magnaflow mufflers sit behind original chrome tips.
All trim remains authentic OEM chrome—bumpers, door handles, and more. The rear seat upholstery is original. Owned for over twenty years by the current custodian, this represents a driver-quality early Shelby with documented restoration and genuine heritage.

Classic Ford Mustang Buyer's Guide
The Ford Mustang launched on April 17, 1964 and sold a million units faster than any car in American history. Sixty years later, the first-generation Mustang (1964½-1973) remains the cornerstone of the classic car hobby — the gateway car for new collectors, the trophy car for veteran enthusiasts, and the most cloned, faked, and re-stamped muscle car on the market. Whether you're hunting a base inline-six coupe or a documented Boss 429, knowing what separates the real cars from the tribute builds is the difference between an investment and a money pit.
