Description
1987 Land Rover Defender 110 I purchased this from its second owner 4 years ago in Southern Italy where it had been mothballed for the last 20 years. It had zero rust and came over in excellent condition and 60K orig miles on it. Left Hand Drive.
Over the last 4 years I've had the truck meticulously dissassembled, upgraded and redesigned from the frame up. Every component of the truck has been removed and replaced or refinished and upgraded. I've owned 6 defenders over the years and this truck is the most kitted truck I've owned.
From upgraded disk brakes and New Heavy Duty Old Man Emu suspension to new 200tdi motor to Sheelmann German heated and perfed leather seats this truck feels and drives better than new. This is a no rust/no damage vehicle. It's currently configured as a two seater intended for overlanding but can easly be configured to 4 seat, 5 seat, 7 seat or 9 seat configuration. 49 miles on the odometer and new engine.
I've attached a few restoration process photos along with photos of the truck. Clean title in hand. Here is a list of work, upgrades and components done on the truck to date: Full disassembly and soda blasting to bare metal on all panels doors and hood.
New puma bonnet Lizard Skin Sound Coating on the inside of all panels Lizard Skin Heat Coating (Ceramic) on the inside of all panels Full respray to original Color (Base and Clear) on front and backside of every panel All door, roof and inter panel seals have been replaced. All nuts and bolts removed during disassembly were replaced with Stainless. Cargo area sliding windows were replaced with OEM solid glass panels.
New Glass Windscreen PDR entire truck All operable windows were polished New door covers, door handles and locks. New matching lock and ignition set (single key system) New Fusion Marine Deck (bluetooth) New Wolf Steel Wheels (set of 5) New KO2 265/85 R16 Tires (set of 5) New rear door and Glass with defogger New Upgraded terrafirma steel bumper and more

Land Rover Defender Buyer's Guide
Emily Chen here. The Defender rewards the kind of analytical ownership that I find most satisfying: understanding why the engineering decisions were made, what their implications are in use, and how to maintain a 30-year-old vehicle to modern reliability standards. The Defender is not a comfortable car in the conventional sense. It vibrates, it's loud at highway speed, the steering is heavy, and the seating position looks like something from a 1953 farm tractor — because it essentially is. None of that matters when you engage low-range and point it down a slope that no other production vehicle would survive.
The "Defender" name was applied retroactively in 1990 to distinguish the original Land Rover from the new Discovery. But the car being called a Defender — the 90/110/130 designation referring to wheelbase in inches — dates from 1983 when Land Rover moved from leaf springs to coil springs. This guide covers the 1983–2016 coil-spring era.
