Carlisle Events

Carlisle Events — held at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in southcentral Pennsylvania — is America's largest automotive show and swap meet complex, running eight separate marque and theme events from April through October. Each event is brand or theme-specific: the All-Ford Nationals, the GM Nationals (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac), the Mopar Nationals, and the Spring Carlisle swap meet — which alone draws 9,000+ vendors across 120+ acres and is the largest single swap meet in the United States.

History

The Carlisle family began organizing events at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in 1974 with a small swap meet. The model proved immediately successful in the Mid-Atlantic region, which had a dense population of classic car enthusiasts within driving distance. By the 1980s Carlisle had developed the marque-specific event format — separating Ford, GM, and Mopar audiences — which allowed deeper community formation within each brand camp.
