This 1936 Austin Seven Special is a very unique and desirable purpose built rally special. Raced in many rallies in great Britain and brought over to the states by a local GI. Raced in Class L and H. The all steel body is rust free and the frame has been stiffened up for rally and cross country racing. Car has a strong running 1100cc engine with race SU carburetors and four speed gearbox. Needs brakes replaced all new parts are there and bled. Fold down windscreen and unique rally suicide steering gizmo on a banjo wheel. Pictures show the ill conceived 'picnic basket trunk' that owner had removed and have made patterns for a suitable race gas tank and double wheel spare set. The sheet metal work is straightforward and will reward the owner with a much improved and correct rear-end. This project will reward the owner with a true prewar rally car worth double the price. Perfect winter project to finish and rally in the spring or use it as a Sunday driver. This car also has custom leather seats. The current owner recently restored this vehicle after purchasing.
