1936 Chevrolet Cabriolet has a manual transmission and a clean title. This car was shipped to Germany and lengthened 12 inches by a stage coach factory. Length was added to this car in order to accommodate the gentlemen's large briefcases of the time. The car was owned by the US ambassador to Germany William E. Dodd. Dodd served as ambassador to Germany from 1933-1937. He was sent to Germany to try to 'calm' Adolf Hitler down but resigned once he realized the Nazis were an increasing threat. Rumors are that Adolf Hitler rode in this car. This vehicle was made for the elite of the time. This is a 4 door which makes this car that much more rare. As if it needed any more reasons to be a one of a kind! This car was restored in 1985 by the 2nd owner. This car was shipped back to the U.S from Germany in 1940. This car was found by the 2nd owner in New York City. This car was meant to stay in the family of the 2nd owner and be handed down but unfortunately both the owner and the owners son passed away. The owners wife sold it to the current owner who has done a lot of research on this vehicle and continues to. The story behind this car is absolutely amazing.
