1956 Continental Mark II The Continental Division of Ford Motor Company was William Clay Ford's idea to honor his late father, Edsel Ford, who was the father of the first Lincoln Continental in 1939. This MKII was a hand-built automobile with the A/C option and sold for $10,780, the most expensive car at the time (late1955.) A total of 2556 were built in 1956 and 444 MKII's were built in 1957. Bridge of Weir Scottish Leather was used throughout the interior with Wilton Wood Carpeting. Each 368/300HP engine was balanced and factory blue-printed.This Mark II has 63,784 original miles. It has had a comprehensive restoration believed to have been done within the last 15 years. Since then it has spent virtually all of its time indoors in a few hi-end collections. Beautiful all the way around. Rebuilt motor at 63,000. Working A/C. Runs and drives as good as it looks. It is believed that only about 500 of these cars are still in existence.
