Antique Vintage Classic 1957 Chevy Panel Van Truck 235 straight 6 cylinder with two (2) 1 one barrel carburetors. Lots of pep. Blue Flame? Manual 3 speed with 2 over drive gears, (1, 2, 2 over, 3, 3 over) Moved from column to floor. The mechanic who modified this into a hotrod in the 70’s installed a motor taken from a 1953 corvette. The first year corvette was 6 cylinders. I was later told that the number on the motor was from a truck. Both trusted sources, so I don’t know if Chevrolet used a modified truck motor for the first corvettes or what? It was running great when parked/stored in the middle to late 1980’s. Has some rust areas but not bad. Had it undercoated in early 1980’s when I worked in other states for a couple of years. That’s also why it no longer has original California plates. Has a couple of dents, replaced rear bumper and one back door, all separate incidents. Back door & bumper was a roll away when parking brake didn’t hold, and side was from Dad misjudging while backing up his motorhome. Also dash has been cut. Non-op’d for many years, have title and pink slip.
